I AM A Monument
For the second and final meeting of I AM A MONUMENT, we will read two texts that reflect critically on some of the implications of Learning From Las Vegas and the development of urban architecture in the past two decades. These authors both update and question the claims made in LFLV. The essays are:
Mike Davis, “Fear and Money in Dubai,” New Left Review 41 (September-October, 2006).
Norman M. Klein, The Vatican to Vegas: A History of Special Effects, Chapter 18. New York: The New Press, 2004.
