What was video art? Rebecca Cleman, Distribution Director at EAI, poses this question in light of technological and cultural changes in the decades since ICA’s 1975 Video Art exhibition, and David Antin’s influential catalog essay about the then nascent medium. Join in this final Excursus discussion, along with a group of artists, curators, and scholars, to help us consider the legacy of video art. Participants include Homay King (Bryn Mawr College), Herb Shellenberger (International House), Adelina Vlas (Philadelphia Museum of Art), and artists Nadia Hironaka and Matthew Suib.
In conjunction with the final weekend of Excursus Blonde Art Books (Brooklyn, NY) will be on site from 12pm – 4pm with a selection of Risograph-printed publications and ephemera.
